A beloved Atlanta brand is returning to the culinary scene under the stewardship of Wild Heaven Beer. They will bring EATS to their West End location at the Lee + White complex at 1010 White St. SW, with plans to open in early March, co-owner Nick Purdy told What Now Atlanta.

EATS closed in its initial location in October after a run that spanned more than three decades. The spot had been known for offerings like jerk chicken and meat-and-threes.

“Just when I thought it was over, I was approached by a group adamant about keeping the EATS brand alive — longtime customers and friends, Brent and Amity Dey, along with Wild Heaven Brewery owners, Nick and Eric,” Bob Hatcher, the original founder and owner of EATS, said in a release. “With longstanding EATS manager Levi Nichols on board, I’m excited for this next chapter and to welcome our loyal community back to their favorite booths.”

Purdy and Eric Johnson are behind Wild Heaven Beer, which has locations in Avondale, Toco Hills and West End. Their current food partner, El Tesoro, is in the process of transitioning to its own brick-and-mortar space nearby.

“We think it’s going to be a really exciting development for the West End,” Purdy told What Now Atlanta. “We’ve seen an incredible reaction from fans over the last day and half and I think there’s going to be a lot of excitement.”

The EATS brand will maintain its longstanding legacy with a refreshed concept. Purdy told What Now Atlanta that they plan to bring plenty of original furniture and wall hangings to the space, along with the same menu, including the full pasta offerings.

“EATS has been part of Atlanta’s culinary DNA for decades,” Purdy said in the release. “We’re honored to carry that torch forward. Our goal is to preserve what people have always loved about EATS while giving it a thoughtful, sustainable home inside our West End brewery. The goal isn’t to be an EATS tribute band but to reach 99% fidelity to the experience so many Atlantans treasure. Eric and I couldn’t be prouder to have a chance to steward the next chapter of EATS.”
