Smyrna’s Zama Mexican Cuisine & Margarita Bar will soon open a second Atlanta-area location, this time in Marietta.

Plans this week were filed with Cobb County to buildout the restaurant in the Sprayberry Square shopping center.

The Mexican eatery will occupy suite 300A—a 5,212-square-foot space—in the LA Fitness-anchored shopping center, at 2550 Sandy Plains Road.

Zama owner Juan Velasquez in an email to What Now Atlanta Wednesday confirmed the news. While a firm timeline has not been finalized, Zama Marietta should debut later this year, he said.

The restaurant, which serves authentic Mexican cuisine, launched its original Smyrna location in 2015.

The new outpost joins other restaurants like Willie Jewel’s BBQ and Chick-fil-A in Sprayberry Square.
