City Of Atlanta Says “Ale NO!”

Ale Yeah! Craft Beer Market, a craft beer only package store, announced this morning on Facebook that a leased was signed for their first location at 906 W. College avenue in Decatur.

Originally slated to open this summer in the East Atlanta Village, Ale Yeah! had a lease two doors down from the EARL at 490B Flat Shoals avenue. According to the company’s website, they hit a “zoning snag,” which prevented them from opening:

To all of our supporters: we can’t thank you enough for the encouraging words and continued support we have seen from East Atlanta and the surrounding communities. Unfortunately, the city of Atlanta does not want us to thrive as we have hit a zoning snag that will prevent us from opening in the Village. Seems as though Beer is both literally and figuratively a 4 letter word in the political realm. But fret not, we are currently looking into other location possibilities and will have an update very soon on where this dream will come true. One ‘no’ will not deter Ale Yeah!

Ale Yeah! will showcase a variety of American craft beer as well as varieties from around the world; no wine or spirits.

They will also carry bombers and give people the opportunity to “build-their-own” 6-pack. Cheeses, cured meats and chocolates will be avilable at the market as well.
