Barnes & Noble shuttered in April 2022 in the Edgewood Retail District. However, it is charting a comeback to the district. A post earlier this month on the Barnes & Noble Edgewood Instagram page confirmed that the bookstore is planning to open a location there in spring 2026.

The spot will go into the space formerly home to Office Depot at 1205 Caroline Street NE. The Barnes & Noble website indicates that it will open in April.

Barnes & Noble has 11 other locations scattered throughout the Atlanta area, including spots in Buckhead, The Avenue at West Cobb and the Mall of Georgia.

The bookstore brand has about 600 locations and has a presence in every state. This year, it has been in the process of expanding its footprint after years of store closures. It previously announced that it was aiming to open 60 stores throughout 2025, and it appears that the expansion will continue throughout 2026.
