Affordable international-meets-local art gallery concept to open June 1.
The company behind the newest retail addition to Phipps Plaza‘s offerings has outposts in some of the world’s most renowned cities. Now, it has set its sights on Atlanta.
The luxury mall today announced the opening of Carré d’artistes Atlanta on June 1, 2016 in a press release.
Carré d’artistes is a chain of art galleries with locations all over the world including Paris, Istanbul, and New York. The Atlanta outpost will be the fourth in the United States.
The international concept will also include a more local component, as 25% of the paintings in the gallery are created by artists local to each gallery’s city.
According to Phipps, “Gallerista” Brenda Fannin will be responsible for curating the collection at the forthcoming Atlanta locations, which will include works featuring “Atlanta’s skylines and landscapes” as well as “street art.”
Good news for those who may be expecting an out-of-reach retailer: all original pieces of art will be affordable, starting at $115 to $575 – with larger pieces planned for the future.
