Midtown development runs into ‘another leasing opportunity.’

City Sports, an athletic performance apparel, shoes, and accessories retailer, is closing its Atlantic Station location.

The Boston-based retailer, at 261 19th Street, will shutter January 1, according to Liz Gillespie, director of marketing for Town Center at Atlantic Station.

“City Sports will close on January 1 providing another leasing opportunity for Atlantic Station,” Gillespie said in an email to What Now Atlanta Friday.

Founded in 1983, City Sports has locations in Massachusetts, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C. and Rhode Island.

Its Atlantic Station location was City Sports only Georgia location.
