New Virginia-Highland retailer celebrating grand opening 7 – 10 p.m.
A “coffee and clothing gallery” inspired by the love story of Atlanta couple Jim Chambers and Camryn Park is opening July 11 in Virginia-Highalnd, at 784 North Highland Ave.
Henry & June, co-owned by Chambers and Park, will serve up Nashville-based CREMA and United States micro-roasters coffee drinks in a program headed up by “bean curator” Dan Mueller, previously of Octane Coffee and Aurora Coffee, according to the retailer’s website.
Henry & June’s fashion offerings will include a “small number of contemporary brands not available elsewhere in town” like Abbey Glass and Correll Corell for woman, and Journal and Won hundred for men.
Chambers and Park met over coffee, as the story goes, and conceived their “lovechild” Henry & June on a “cross-country, coffee and boutique-laden road trip.”
“Ours will be not so much store, but a gallery of sorts, a convivial, bright little boutique, with fabulously beaming adornments, hand-picked by maniacs, and remarkable vessels of caffeination and flavor.”
The coffee and clothing gallery’s name comes from the “sexually-charged diaries of Anais Nin, and her beautifully poetic and scandalous entanglement with Henry Miller and his wife June in 1930’s Paris.”
Henry & June’s grand opening celebration is Friday, July 11 from 7 – 10 p.m.

My life is clearly lacking curation. Maybe I’m just not a diamond in the sky.
Sounds like I will need to take a mortgage out on my home if my coffee is served in a “vessel”.

Sadly, our shared shade has yet to bring us together.
Call me a cynic, but I thought folks got over their Henry Miller phase around 20 or so. I genuinely thought the site was a hipster parody for several minutes.
Well, make room under that cloud for me. I hope I’m wrong. I hope that they are wildly successful at using their “coffee product as the conduit for structuring an inviting community with a gallery feel” at their “casual but trendy” cafe while keeping “a finger on the pulse of the values and needs of the edgy, modern and fashion-savvy community of Atlanta.” One less empty storefront is always good.
But I also hope that they have money coming from somewhere else and don’t actually need to make a living at this.
Ha. Because OF COURSE he’s independently wealthy.
As a former shopgirl, the idea of coffee and boutique clothing in one place seems very problematic.

I like the concept and applaud them for establishing something new and creative in this city where Starbucks and Caribou litter the landscape. Bravo!
Seriously though, Cam is absurdly hot. Go for the coffee, stay for the milk.
