Decatur Bikes is closing its doors after ten years in business.

The bike shop, at 248 W Ponce de Leon Avenue, Tuesday announced the news in an email to customers and on the company’s Facebook page.

“…Unfortunately, this email will be one of the last you see from Decatur Bikes as we are going out of business,” according to the email.

It’s unclear when the retailer’s last day will be, but Decaturish is reporting the business will “likely close around Jan. 15.”

The bike shop in the meantime is hosting a “closeout” sale including 30 percent off accessories and “bikes are at must-go-prices.”

“We have had ten great years but unfortunately, the retail environment that we are in today doesn’t allow for us to continue.”

No word on what will open in the bike shop’s place.
