A local artist is preparing to open a new goods store and event space at Underground Atlanta. Foster will open at 50 Upper Alabama Street, Suite 194, according to the brand’s Instagram page.

George F. Baker III, a local illustrator, muralist and public speaker, is behind the dual-purpose concept. The spot will revolve around the idea of “making things for people,” according to the Instagram page.

“Foster is a goods shop and event space built around the joy of making,” an earlier Instagram announcement stated, introducing the brand. “More than a store, it’s an art playground — an open space for Atlanta to create, converse and connect.”

Expect to see a creativity-inspired atmosphere where customers can purchase artist-made accessories, clothing and home goods. It will double as an event space designed to forge conversations and connections within the community.

“At the end of the day, all I really want to do is foster community for the great city of Atlanta,” Baker said in an October video showcasing the space as it was under renovations.

An opening timeline remains unclear at this time. However, a post in early October indicated that construction was still ongoing in the space. However, it is expected to open soon, according to its Instagram page.

Efforts to reach Baker for additional details prior to the time of publication were unsuccessful.
