Beauty brand Glossier is planning a pop-up shop in Ponce City Market (PCM) for early2020.

The retailer, known for its skincare, makeup, and fragrance, will be housed in Suite E186 of the redevelopment next to Pancake Social and across from The Flats leasing office.

“The pop-up will be carved out of the existing retail space with 10-foot walls for shelving…,” a contractor working on the retailer’s buildout told What Now Atlanta over the phone this week.

“The buildout shouldn’t take more than two to three weeks once the permit has been approved by the City of Atlanta.”

Although primarily an online retailer since its inception in 2014, Glossier has permanent flagship stores in both Los Angeles and in New York City, as well as pop-ups in Chicago, Miami, London, Seattle, Boston, Austin, and San Francisco.

To fuel this type of expansion and growth, Glossier secured $100 million in funding led by Sequoia Capital earlier this year, bringing its valuation to $1.2 billion, according to CNBC.

Founder and CEO Emily Weiss once visited PCM in December of 2015 for a Madewell and Glossier partnership event.

But a new partnership is not currently in the works between the two brands, according to a Madewell associate.

News of the planned Glossier pop-up arrives on the heels of expansion talks for PCM’s popular Food Hall.
