A local outdoor retailer is slated to expand next year. High Country Outfitters is expanding to The Medley in Johns Creek, with plans to open at the end of October 2026. The Atlanta Business Chronicle first reported the news, and a representative with High Country Outfitters confirmed the news with What Now Atlanta.

High Country Outfitters launched in 1975, helmed by Bubba Sloan, Gerald Marshall, Denny Mays and Ned Buxton. It offers items such as clothing, gear and footwear from major outdoor brands like Patagonia, Free Fly, On Running, Vuori, BOTE, YETI, One Wheel and Big Green Egg.

This location will be the ninth for the brand, joining spots in Peachtree City, East Cobb, Buckhead, Peachtree Battle, Midtown, Alpharetta, Peachtree Corners and Athens.

The Medley has been taking shape at 11650 Johns Creek Pkwy. The 43-acre mixed-use development heading to Johns Creek is slated to open in about a year, according to a countdown on the Medley website. It will feature 150,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space; 110,000 square feet of office space; a 150-room boutique hotel; 750 luxury rental homes; 133 townhomes; and a 25,000-square-foot plaza.

Local Thai restaurant chain 26 Thai is also expected to join the development.
