Kathleen’s Catch Fresh Fish Market, Atlanta’s purveyor of award-winning lobster rolls and fresh daily catches, is opening up its third location — this time right on the edge of Brookhaven in the Skyland Shopping Center at 3434-3436 Clairmont Rd NE. Owner Kathleen Hulsey told What Now Atlanta that this exact location was her target destination for the new marketplace.

“I was interested in getting into Brookhaven and that [building] was the one I liked the best because it’s an old center, but they’ve redone the whole thing,” Hulsey said. “That’s where I wanted to be.” While her other shops have done really well, Hulsey feels she needs to be where people would truly appreciate what she sells.

Like many businesses, the novel coronavirus pandemic has affected Kathleen’s Catch Fresh Fish Market, but in a surprising way. Following the closure of surrounding restaurants, people had to start learning to cook, so they sought out Kathleen’s — a place where nobody does it like her, she said. “I’m excited to bring really, really good fresh seafood to the area. Everything we sell is all-natural, no fish treated with any chemical.” Mostly, it’s just a market — but it also offers prepared dishes, like a variety of seafood chowders, crab cake sandwiches, tuna salad, cooked shrimp, and oven-ready to-go meals. “We’re working on bringing wine into our store and a variety of beverages.”

Hulsey says there’s a little ambiguity when the new market will open, due to the negative impact of the pandemic, but she’s aiming for sometime after the holidays — pending minor work to the space like plumbing, electrical, heating, and air. When Kathleen’s Catch Fresh Fish Market does open, Hulsey hopes it will be her Brookhaven neighbors’ “one-stop place.” For now, you can check out its two other locations: Milton Market on 12660 Crabapple Road in Suite 110 and the Johns Creek Market at 9810 Medlock Bridge Road.
