Papyrus, a greeting card and stationery chain that once had upwards of 450 stores, is closing all of its remaining locations, including its two in Georgia, both of which are in Atlanta and across the street from one another.

Employees at the local Papyrus retail stores, in Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza, confirmed the news in a telephone conversation with What Now Atlanta Tuesday after receiving word from parent company Schurman Retail Group last week.

It’s unclear when each store will close for good, but the internal memo indicated a liquidation over the next two to four weeks.

A companywide sale, currently offering customers 20 percent off online and instore, is already underway.

Liquidation firm Gordon Brothers has been retained by Schurman Retail Group to oversee the going-out-of-business sales.

Across the U.S. and Canada, Papyrus is expected to close roughly 260 stores.
