Protesters on Thursday are heading to the newly-opened Atlantic Station Forever 21 to urge shoppers to boycott the flagship retailer until it stops selling wool, PETA organizers informed What Now Atlanta on Wednesday.
The planed protest December 19 follows the release of two recent PETA videos of sheep farms in Australia, the world’s top exporter of wool and a source of wool used by Forever 21, according to rendered press materials.
PETA has criticized the global wool industry through 11 expose-style videos in the last five years.
“Sheep are beaten bloody for wool sweaters, coats, and scarves,” said PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman in a press statement.
“PETA is calling on kind people not to spend a cent at Forever 21 until it gives gentle sheep some peace on earth by ending its wool sales.”
The protest will convene at 1380 Atlantic Dr. NW (at the intersection of 19th and State streets NW), at 12 noon.
