Southern California-based lifestyle and fashion brand Planet Blue will open its first Southeast location in Buckhead Atlanta, the mixed-use development in a press release announced Wednesday.

“We’re proud to bring our first store in the Southeast to a true fashion destination among the celebrated luxury brands of the world at Buckhead Atlanta,” David Lindell, vice president of retail at Planet Blue, said in the release.

“The immense online growth and overwhelming excitement we’ve experienced from our customers throughout this region inspired us to bring our signature boutique experience and sun-kissed lifestyle home to Buckhead. We aspire to provide more than just fashionable product; we want every customer to embrace her personal style and make her own waves.”

A building permit application was filed with City of Atlanta Tuesday for the Buckhead Atlanta Planet Blue boutique. An estimated $240,000 will be spent building out the 2,987-square-foot retail space, at 262 Buckhead Avenue.

Beginning 20 years ago in Malibu as a tiny shop of organic cotton clothing, Planet Blue now has shops from California to Japan.

Buckhead Atlanta opened to the community in September 2014. There are currently 31 retailers and restaurants already open, with another 11 tenants scheduled to open their doors between now and the end of summer.
