The gourmet popcorn retailer could open in the Castleberry Market.

Castleberry Hill could soon be home to Indulge Gourmet Popcorn, a new gourmet popcorn concept.

Would-be first-time business owner Amy Tyler Monday filed plans with City of Atlanta to make commercial alterations to space in the Castleberry Market development, at 177 Peters Street, for the retail store.

Plans call for renovations like refinishing the floors, painting walls, and installing a retail counter, popcorn equipment, and shelving.

Tyler in an email to What Now Atlanta Tuesday confirmed that Indulge Gourmet Popcorn was in the works.

“Indulge Gourmet Popcorn will offer a small variety of sweet, savory and decadent recipes. We use high quality, Non-GMO ingredients with the intention of making a healthier, delicious snack,” Tyler said.

“Once construction is completed our shop should resemble an upscale boutique – both rustic and chic, yet feel warm and inviting to our customers.”

The 780-square-foot space – unit B – was the last available spot listed on Loopnet for lease in the Castleberry Market project.

Indulge Gourmet Popcorn wouldn’t be the only specialty food retailer in the development joining McCoughtry’s Ice Cream, an ice cream parlor owned by Atlanta Dream star and two-time Olympic gold medalist Angel McCoughtry.

  • Please, please… Somebody bring some of these fun developments with community oriented retailers and restaurants to Buckhead. It is so frustrating to talk to restauranteurs and other small businesses who would like to be in Buckhead but can’t find affordable space. In downtown Decatur there are three ice cream shops… Each unique enough to draw their own audience. And Buckhead there is a Baskin Robbins.
