Popular dim sum eatery Royal China could open in Duluth later this week.

Representatives for the restaurant on Tuesday told What Now Atlanta (WNA) Royal China was aiming for a Friday, April 26 debut, at 3960 Venture Drive.

The new outpost is in the former Golfsmith building near Costco.

It is a relocation of the restaurant’s long-standing Chamblee restaurant, at 3295 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, which has already shuttered.

“We have been planning this move for a long time,” a Royal China manager told WNA.

“It’s a much better location.”

The restaurant has been in permitting with Gwinnett County since early 2017 for the new location.

A remodel of the space from a sporting goods store into the Chinese restaurant began at the end of 2018.
