The Springs Cinema & Taphouse in early-February will “re-open” following a $2.5 million renovation from its former life as the LeFont Sandy Springs Theatre.

Renovations started early-2018 and The Springs Cinema & Taphouse has remained open during construction.

Brandt Gully purchased the 41-year-old theatre, at 5920 Roswell Road, Suite C103, in November 2017.

Gully started the overhaul with the auditoriums which were completed last year, including the addition of “the city’s only” heated luxury recliners.

Next to renovate were the theatre’s common areas including the lobby—updated with all new finishes, self-serve ticket kiosks, a completely rebuilt concessions area with enhanced food offerings, and the addition of a full bar featuring craft beer, cocktails, and wines.

All that remains in way of the renovation are final details, a spokesperson Wednesday told What Now Atlanta in an email.

For example, furniture and carpet have not been installed in the lobby (pictured below.)

The Springs Cinema & Taphouse will continue to show both big Hollywood blockbusters and small independent films.

  • Their “small independent films” offerings have much to be desired. LaFont had a much better selection.
