Sweet Octopus, a planned Duluth Thai street food restaurant from the owner of Thai and Sushi EAV, is adding poke and ramen to its menu.
Paul Yuwachit has partnered with Seven Chan, the founder of Poke Burri and Lifting Noodles, to bring the Asian dishes to the forthcoming Duluth eatery.
Sweet Octopus, originally slated to debut in the summer, is now pushing for an October opening in the Parson’s Alley development, at 3559 W Lawrenceville Street.
Aside from the menu additions, everything else is staying the same, according to Yuwachit.
Several Atlanta media outlets Thursday reported Sweet Octopus will now operate as a “mini food hall” with five tenants but “they got it wrong,” Yuwachit told What Now Atlanta in an email.
“Everything will be owned and run by and as Sweet Octopus,” he said.
“Food halls have stalls and vendors. That’s not what we’re doing. We’re simply expanding our menu to include poke and ramen through a partnership.”
In addition to the poke and ramen, Yuwachit is also adding empanadas, sourced from Empanada House, he said.
“There will be one register and one place to order.”
