“Welcome to McAlister’s Deli in Hutto!” says a post on Huttopia.com dated June 13, 2024. “The building is still under construction…”

A photo included in the post, taken on June 1 of that year, shows progress being made on the building, with signage already in place.

If that seems like a long time ago, check this out: a filing registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for location dates all the way back to March 2022.

This is to say, Hutto has been waiting on this McAlister’s for a very long time, and now, Huttopia.com says the restaurant has announced an opening date on January 24.

“Our food is our foundation – we wouldn’t be here without the 13 layers of our McAlister’s Club or our giant Spuds covered with your favorite toppings,” says the McAlister’s website. “Our goal is to serve handcrafted food and delicious sweet tea that is simple and satisfying – for every palette, even mom’s pickiest eater. We take familiar flavors and add the special McAlister’s touch that you won’t find anywhere else.”

The chain has recently launched a few new items, like the Cuban Sandwich, the Spicy BBQ Crunch Chicken Sandwich, Honey BBQ Pork Nachos, the Honey BBQ Pork Melt, and Red Velvet Cheese. It’s a capacious menu with lots to choose from, including McAlister’s famous Giant Spuds, loaded potatoes that come in varieties like the Smokehouse Spud, the Chicken Bacon Ranch Spud, and the Honey BBQ Pork Spud.

Hang in there just a little longer, Hutto. It looks like McAlister’s Deli is making its debut soon!
