The famous local beer brand Austin Beerworks will soon be opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant and taproom in northeast Austin, according to a recent filing with the State of Texas. The facility will be located at 10300 Springdale Rd, occupying the former space of board.org, in an area of Austin largely untouched by development.
The filing states that construction will consists of an “interior and exterior remodel of existing 19610 sf office building. Improvements include change of use within building from office to tap room. Exterior improvements include new patio and wood deck totaling 544 sf.” In total, the facility will boast 7010 square feet, standing on 64 acres of land.
Describing the project on their website, the company states “We are building what we hope to be the greatest beer playground this town has ever seen. And we want you to be a part of it from the beginning.”
Preemptively answering the question of ‘What are you going to do with all that land?’ on the company’s FAQ page, Austin Beerworks states “Everything is on the table right now (because it’s just in our minds!) Event center. Boutique hotel. Winery. Distillery. Some other kinds of alcohol that haven’t even been invented yet. You name it! And yes, we are already working with Mint Discs to build a competition-level disc golf course on the land. See what you learn when you join Beerworks For Life!”
What Now Austin reached out to Co-Founder and Director of Operations Adam DeBower to inquire about the establishment’s food offerings and potential opening dates, but he was not immediately available for comment.
