The growing Korean BBQ-fusion fast casual brand Chi’Lantro will soon be opening its debut location in San Marcos, according to a recent filing with the State of Texas. The restaurant will be located at 180 Springtown Way, within suite 104, near eateries such as Summermoon Coffee and Saltgrass Steakhouse.

Chi’Lantro’s simple menu is composed of three principal items: chicken wings, customizable bowls, and their signature kimchi fries. For drinks, the chain offers cane sugar soda, aguas frescas, and iced tea.

Begun as a food truck before expanding into a major local chain, due in part to owner Jae Kim’s success on the television show Shark Tank, the brand has now ten operating locations, all in the Central Texas area. Defining their core values, D.A.R.T, on the official website, Chi’Lantro outlines:

Dedication – We are passionate about our Core Focus and committed to providing the “Southern Hospitality” experience to our customers, team members, and our communities.

Authenticity – We believe in open, honest, and thoughtful communication where we can express our emotions freely and clearly to always improve our relationships with each other.

Resilience – We believe in building a strong culture that is founded on positivity, trust, and accountability.

Thankfulness – Each moment we breathe is a gift so we remember to celebrate both the big and small wins and have fun.”

What Now Austin reached out to founder and owner Jae Kim to inquire about prospective opening dates, but he was not immediately available for comment. What can be known through the filing, however, is that construction is slated to wrap up by May 2023.
