Chuy’s, the Austin-based Tex-Mex chain, will soon begin building a new location in Manor, according to recent public records. The restaurant will be located at 12420 Tillgang Pass.
Records examined by What Now state construction will consist of a “tenant finish out of a full-service commercial restaurant with patio” spanning 7104 square feet at a cost of around $1,500,000. It is set to finish by the end of August 2026.
Narrating the company’s origins on the official website, “Chuy’s opened on April 16, 1982 in an old, abandoned Texas Barbeque joint on iconic Barton Springs Road in Austin, TX. There was seating for about sixty, a women’s restroom the size of a broom closet and a men’s restroom that was, well, outside.”
“Founders Mike Young and John Zapp had a vision of a fun and funky Tex-Mex restaurant that served authentic and fresh food in an atmosphere that appealed to everyone. From these humble beginnings, Chuy’s was born.”
Until the newest Chuy’s location opens its doors, Tex Mex fans can find over 15 locations across the State of Texas, from San Antonio to Dallas-Fort Worth.
