Holiday, a new cocktail bar, will soon open in Austin, according to a recent press release. The restaurant will be located at 5020 E 7th St, near eateries such as  Hi Sign Brewing and Justine’s.

“The idea for Holiday was originated by John DiCicco (Co-owner of Kinda Tropical) and Erin Ashford (former Olamaie Beverage Director and AGM). DiCicco will lead Administrative Operations with Ashford as Bar & Service Director. The two are joined by Peter Klein (former L’Oca d’Oro Executive Sous Chef) who leads the culinary program as Executive Chef. The three industry veterans met while working together at lauded restaurant Olamaie,” the press release states.

“Amid many of Austin’s more masculine bars and speakeasies, Holiday will have a brighter, more feminine energy. Its aesthetic will feel light and airy, while maintaining an attention to detail on the full guest experience. The space will be high-end, but without airs or ego. It’ll be the perfect place to bring a date, relax with friends or catch up with family.”

“The cocktail menu at Holiday will consist of drinks or “fancies” that are expertly executed, refreshing, playful, and at times heavy handed. Ashford has built a reputation of making cocktails that are fine-tuned and interesting while still being approachable and crowd pleasing. Her opening menu will have a focus on agave, amari and gin but will be ever-changing based on what continues to inspire her and the team.”

“The food program at Holiday will draw inspiration from a variety of Klein’s past experiences in the culinary industry, and will not be tied to a particular cuisine. The menu is designed to compliment the casual-yet-refined aesthetic of the bar program and will focus on seasonally-inspired, shareable snacks and small plates, with a selection of larger entrees available.”

“The structure of the building, which was previously an auto body shop, has been transformed by architect Fred Hubnik, JCP Construction, and Candice Bertalan of Tropic of Capricorn Design, who led both the interior design and plant design.”

“Holiday will provide an inclusive and positive work environment for their staff with a focus on career growth. It will support a healthy work life balance by offering access to more affordable primary health care and mental health care. They are planning to open in early 2023, and are currently hiring for all positions.”

“Once open, Holiday will operate 7 days a week from 5pm to 12am.”
