New York bar and eatery Mother’s Ruin is building up a downtown Austin location, according to recent public records.

Set for 1401 E 6th St., the $1,600,000 construction will consist of a “restaurant tenant finish-out of an existing cold, dark shell lease space” spanning 3,218 ft 2. It is estimated to reach completion by December 2024.

“Founded in NYC in 2011, Mother’s Ruin is the perfect blend of your favorite local bar and cocktail temple,” the official website states.

“Comfortable decor and no door policy belie the staff’s commitment to exceptionally crafted cocktails and customer service. In 2019 our second location opened in Nashville’s Germantown neighborhood, our third location opened in Chicago in 2022.”

No opening date has been set.
