Haywire, the Texas-inspired restaurant known for its larger-than-life dining experiences, extensive whiskey collection, and genuine Texas hospitality, officially opened its doors in Austin.

“Austin has a deep appreciation for great food and a good time, which makes it the perfect home for Haywire,” said Jack Gibbons, CEO of FB Society in a statement. “We’ve created a restaurant that captures the spirit of Texas—big, welcoming, and built for gathering. Whether you’re here for a hand-cut steak, a rare whiskey, or just a laid-back night with friends, we want it to be a place where people can relax and enjoy themselves.”

Located at 11501 Rock Rose Ave. in The Domain, the multi-level restaurant spans more than 13,000 square feet, offering private dining spaces, a Shasta-style trailer on the second-floor patio, and the Longhorn Lounge, featuring a custom-art installation on the barrel ceiling. Haywire is designed for Texas-size celebrations, blending rustic charm with urban sophistication. The restaurant’s design draws inspiration from iconic Texas destinations like Marfa and Luckenbach, creating a contrast between laid-back comfort and the energy of a fast-paced city.

April Eggleston will serve as general manager, and Chef Zac Allred will lead the culinary team as chef de cuisine. Allred brings more than 15 years of experience, including time at The Joule Hotel in Dallas and as executive chef at North Italia.

Haywire delivers an authentic Texas experience through its farm-to-fork menu, featuring vendor partners from every corner of the state. Each plate tells a story: the Lump Crab honors the Texas Gulf Coast, while the 33-ounce Tomahawk ribeye pays homage to East Texas ranchers. Signature dishes like Elk Tacos and Queso Blanco fulfill Tex-Mex cravings from Southern and West Texas.

In addition, the whiskey and wine collections highlight the best of the Lone Star State while also showcasing hard-to-find selections from around the world.

The new Haywire offers a variety of private dining spaces designed for every occasion, from intimate gatherings to large celebrations. The Shasta Trailer will be a rooftop retreat with vintage charm, perfect for a one-of-a-kind private dining experience, while The Cellar will provide a cozy, wine-lined setting ideal for small private dinners. The Michener Room, named after author James Michener, is a hidden speakeasy-style space with a boardroom-meets-whiskey-lounge vibe. On the first floor, a fully private dining room offers a classic seated dinner experience for up to 40 guests, while the largest private dining room can host up to 100 guests.

Haywire opened its first location in 2017 and has built a reputation for creating unforgettable dining experiences across Texas. Haywire at The Domain will mark the brand’s fifth restaurant, joining locations in Plano, Uptown Dallas, Houston’s Memorial City, and San Antonio.

Haywire is an FB Society concept under the leadership of CEO Jack Gibbons, known for creating and scaling transformative brands, including Velvet Taco, Whiskey Cake, Sixty Vines, Mexican Sugar, Ida Claire, Son of A Butcher, The Ranch at Las Colinas, and The Food Hall Company.
