According to recent reporting in Community Impact, a new independent ice cream shop is soon coming to Liberty Hill.
Run by local Rebecca Maxwell, Sweet Retreat will open at 15399 W Hwy 29 by early May.
Maxwell told The Liberty Hill Independent that the shop will serve hard ice cream from Wisconsin-based The Chocolate Shoppe.
“[They] only use fresh and whole ingredients like farm fresh milk,” she said to the Independent. “Our menu will consist of ice cream scoops, specialty sundaes, malts (powder), shakes, specialty floats and affogatos.”
Notably, the ambience of the shop was described as “old school ice cream parlor with a modern twist,” which will feature bar tops for customers to sit at while watching “old school movies.”
“This will be a place you’ll want to stay and hang for a bit,” she said. “We’re hoping we’ll be just what the community is looking for.”
No exact opening date has been announced.
