According to a recent Instagram post, national hospitality group Lettuce Entertain You is planning a new establishment for Austin in 2025.

“We’re on the way to Austin, TX! Our third @emarestaurants location will transport you to a sun-drenched summer day, with Mediterranean & California-inspired mezze from Chef CJ Jacobson coming to @domainnorthside in North Austin Fall 2025 ✨🌿 Follow for opening updates to come & visit the link in bio to learn more,” the post states.

“We are thrilled to bring Ema’s lighter style of cooking to Texas,” said Marc Jacobs, Lettuce Entertain You’s executive partner and divisional president. “We are grateful to be a part of Austin’s growing dining scene, and we look forward to expanding into Domain NORTHSIDE and the surrounding neighborhood.”

CBS Austin reports that is Ema’s first location in Texas, following the opening of Ema in Chicago’s River North neighborhood in June 2016 and its second location in Chicago’s North Shore suburb, Glenview, in September 2024.

“The name Ema means “mother” in Hebrew and aims to transport diners to a summer day in the Mediterranean. The restaurant will serve a mezze-style menu of Mediterranean small plates from Top Chef Alum and Chef Partner CJ Jacobson. The dishes will be influenced by Jacobson lighter California-style of cooking, with an emphasis on vegetables,” the report states.

The new restaurant is set to open to the public in Fall of 2025.
