According to recent reporting, a successful Austin restaurateur will soon close one concept before opening another.

As JewBoy Sub Shop has closed – Owner Mo Pittle cited an expiring lease with an expensive renewal cost – a new concept will soon come to town.

JewBoy Sliders at Rock Rose will be found inside the Lavaca Street Bar at 11420 Rock Rose Ave. at the Domain Northside, set to open in mid-August, “before football season” per the Business Journal

Reportedly, Pittle has “struck a five-year lease with options to renew with FBR Management, which is behind Lavaca Street Bar and other popular bars in Austin such as Gibson Street Bar and Cain & Abel’s.:

“I really look at this more as an evolution, more as a progression, and I think it’s one of those things that business owners are afraid to do,” Pittle said to ABJ.

Apparently, The Domain location will offer lunch and will be open late, though Pittle is still finalizing the menu.

“People that are looking for gourmet food are likely not going to be wandering around at 12:30 in the morning — maybe. But it’s just a matter of aligning the business model with the location,” Pittle said.
