FBR Management, the group behind notable Austin bars such as Mean Eyed Cat, Star Bar, and Dive, will soon begin building out a second Lala’s, according to recent public records.

Titled “Lala’s II” on the TDLR Filing, the project will consist of “Tenant Improvement in a new Shell Building. Restaurant/Bar w/ Kitchen” and occupy a new, 2,100 square foot suite at 3008 Davis Lane in south Austin. The project is estimated to cost $500,000 and finish by December 2023.

“Founded in 1972, Lala’s Little Nugget has long been one of the divining and endearing bars of Austin, Texas for decades,” the official website states. “With the halls decked with boughs of holly year-round, Santa and his reindeer perched on the roof and generations of Christmas memorabilia, Lala’s is a North Pole oasis in Central Texas!”

The long-standing bar on Justin Ln is known for drinks such as the Peachy Picante, Gin Bramble, and Christmas in July. While the original location’s menu is provided by Brooklyn Pie Co., it is not immediately clear what exactly the south Austin location will offer readers.

No official opening date has been announced.
