Growing chain Playa Bowls will soon begin building out a new location at 1013 W University Ave. in Georgetown.

“Playa Bowls™ is your slice of summer, anytime. Using the freshest, highest quality ingredients, we serve healthy, delicious açaí, pitaya, coconut bowls and smoothies with sustainability and community in mind,” the wesbite states.

Playa’s healthy bowls are made with bases like açai, pitaya, coconut, chia pudding, and more. They come in varieties like Pura Vida (Pure acai topped with granola, blueberry, strawberry, honey), Hemp (Kale blend topped with granola, banana, blueberry, hemp seeds, agave), and Pink Power (Pitaya blend with vanilla protein topped with granola, banana, honey).

The menu also features smoothies and juices, with some locations offering coffee drinks as well (it is not yet known whether this includes the Dripping Springs location).

No opening date has been announced. The $240,000 project is expected to wrap up by March 2025.
