Get ready for more crispy chicken strips in Austin, another Raising Cane’s is headed our way. According to a recent state filing, the national fried chicken brand is set to open its 14th location in the city at 9830 Great Hills Trail.
The permit also shows that construction on the new Raising Cane’s set to open on Great Hills Trail is expected to start in October next year and wrap up by the end of April in 2027, meaning Austinites could be chowing down on chicken strips at the new Raising Cane’s installation before the spring of 2027.
But Austin is no stranger to the fast-food chain, with at least 13 locations scattered throughout ATX and nearly 200 Raising Cane’s locations in the state of Texas.
The Raising Cane’s story starts in Baton Rouge, LA, where Todd Graves and Craig Silvey first opened Raising Cane’s in 1996. Since then, the popular chicken strips and secret sauce franchise has been booming, popping up in every corner of the country.
What may very well set this ever-growing franchise apart is the Cane’s Sauce. So good, the two had to trademark it. Pair the sauce with the crispy chicken finers, crinkle cut fries, the chill of the crunchy coleslaw, and perhaps their fancy tea and lemonade, and you’ve got a party in your mouth. You can get those items in every variation you like: 4 chicken fingers, 6 chicken fingers, or even in a sandwich.
Now there’s no word on who exactly will be running this establishment, but it will likely be a corporate-run Raising Cane’s, as Sarah Allen of Raising Cane’s is listed as the tenant on the permit. What Now Austin attempted to chat with Allen about the opening of the new Raising Cane’s that was intended to be erected on Great Hills Trail, but we did not receive a response by the time of this publication.
But that’s ok! We know that the crispy chicken tendies are coming soon, and if your mouth is not watering yet, it will be when the new Raising Cane’s opens doors at 9830 Great Hills Trail in the spring of 2027.
