Savta Hospitality Group is known for a few hotspots on the West Coast, the restaurateurs are now working on bringing two new concepts to the Austin area. Handroll Bar is set to open on the historic 6th Street in Austin between September and October of 2026, according to general manager Santiago Parejo.

Parejo also told What Now Austin that the group is bringing another concept to ATX in January of 2027. The deal around this new concept and its offerings is still being etched out, but Parejo shared that the new eatery will likely dish out pizza and pasta. A location is also in the works, but can be expected to be released to the Austin community soon.

The name Savta in Savta Hospitality Group may sound familiar; that’s because it is. Savta is the premier Mediterranean-inspired hotspot located at the Original Farmers Market in LA. The eatery is known for its rustic, wood-fired pizzas and a menu that celebrates comfort and fresh ingredients. Savta is a family-owned concept conceived in tribute to co-founder Vincent Benoliel’s beloved grandmother, according to its website,. Benoliel’s grandmother taught him everything he knows about cooking and food, the website writes.

The group recently opened its first Savta New York location, and now the group is embarking on bringing its concepts to the Austin area.

“Whoever has been lucky to try Sora, they’re going to love this place because it’s something extremely new, different, the flavor is unique, and it’s totally a five-star experience,” Parejo said.

The Handroll Bar will live on 6th Street, where the city and real estate agents have been working hard to fill vacancies. Savta Hospitality Group will bring the Japanese concept to the Austin community, offering what Parejo said is a newly introduced culinary experience for America.

“A fresh, nice new concept with great food. The handrolls are amazing!” Pajero said.

The culinary entrepreneur said that the fish used in those hand rolls will come from Japan three times a week, as it does at the LA location.

“That gives us a freshness in the food that is honestly amazing,” Pajero added.

In addition, the new 6th Street location will offer Austinites and visitors from around the world a full bar experience with several classic cocktails, sake, margaritas, and more.

The new eatery will be the third concept to open for the Savta Hospitality Group. Pajero shared that the group often comes up with ideas and ends up mixing and matching concepts. It is likely one of the reasons the other new location to come to Austin from the hospitality group is still being workshopped.

“We’re still debating a few things,” Pajero shared.
