The national chicken sandwich chain Chick-fil-A seeks to remodel its drive-thru capabilities at its 161 West Slaughter Lane location in Austin, according to a recent filing with the State of Texas. The location stands on key territory in South Austin, just west of I-35.
The filing states that the renovations will specifically concern “drive-through modification with parallel drive-through cockpit expansion” and will cost an estimated $150,000 to complete. The filing lists that the renovations will take place through the second & third quarters of 2023.
What Now Austin recently reached out to John Romanello, Chick-Fil-A’s Principal Program Lead to inquire for more details about the changes and how they will affect traffic flow and customer experience, but he was not immediately available for comment.
Founded in Hapeville, Georgia by Truett Cathy in 1946, Chick-Fil-A has since become one of the most notable and ubiquitous fast casual restaurants in the United States and, incredibly, remains family-run. Chick-fil-A is especially known for its chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, hospitable staff, and being consistently, unequivocally closed on Sundays.
