The growing smoothie and health-food fast-casual brand, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, will soon be opening two locations in the Austin area. One of them will be located at 815 W 47th Street and the other at 7301 Ranch Rd 620 N.
“This will be our first two stores,” franchisee Mike Sheppard tells What Now Austin. “We don’t currently own any that are open right now” (Mike will be running the locations alongside his wife Kara Sheppard).
When asked why they decided to begin franchising with the brand, Mr. Sheppard gives a simple answer.
“We loved the healthier choice that the brand provides. We really enjoy going there ourselves and wanted to be able to provide that to the community.”
And what particular item is his personal favorite?
“Well, there’s a lot to choose from between the smoothie and food options. My favorite smoothie, though, is the blueberry bliss, made of all natural fruit, just like everything else. We also have a great one called the detox island green.”
Mr. Sheppard adds that not all the options are strictly healthy.
“We do also have more indulgent ones such as the beach bum, which is strawberry, banana, and chocolate.”
And when can readers expect the locations to open?
“The Ranch Road location will open in March and the 47th St location sometime in July. We also expect to open another location in the next year, though the location is still to be determined.”
