With Launch of Second Austin Restaurant, Hattie B’s Plans Continued Expansion

About two years after making its Austin debut, Nashville classic Hattie B’s Hot Chicken launched its second Austin outpost last month, at 3100 Esperanza Crossing, Suite 130. Hurry over, if you haven’t yet, to test your mettle against flavor profiles that range from the “Not Spicy” Southern Style, past more family “Everyday Heat Levels” (i.e. Mild, Medium, and Hot), all the way to more serious Enthusiast Heat Levels like the habanero-based Damn Hot and the ghost-pepper-based Shut the Cluck Up! The new location is open at Domain Northside, across from JINYA Ramen Bar.

“We love the energy, the crowd, the food scene—it all lines up with what we’re about,” co-founder Nick Bishop, Jr. said in a press release quoted by CultureMap Austin, about the area.

In fact, Hattie B’s loves the food scene so much, it’s looking to invest further in the Austin market. According to coverage by the Austin Business Journal, Hattie B’s is currently hunting for its next Austin outpost. In fact, Hattie B’s is looking to open two or even three more in the area.

In addition to Hattie B’s classic Hot Chicken, the menu features Snack & Share bites like Dirty Bird Fries (pimento mac, tender bites, comeback sauce), Fried Pickles, and Waffles. There are also some fun drinks, including cocktails like a Pain Killer (spiced rum, pineapple, orange, coconut), which you might need after some Shut the Cluck Up Chicken. Then there are Boozy Frozen drinks like the Coke Icee, served with choice of Jack Daniel’s, Skyy, or Sailor Jerry’s.

What Now reached out to Hattie B’s Chief Development officer Dave Oster on Wednesday to ask about plans for more Hattie B’s in Austin. Oster could not be reached immediately for comment.
