A Burlington-born brewing team is opening its first permanent digs.

Fable Brewing Company will soon launch a brick-and-mortar brewery and taproom at 3 Gill St in Woburn, reports Boston Restaurant Talk. The team announced the milestone on social media.

“We’re thrilled to announce that Fable Brewing Company has officially secured a location for our brick-and-mortar home!” they shared. “This isn’t just a building—it’s the beginning of something magical. A place where stories are shared, legends are brewed, and every pint has a tale to tell.”

Founded in 2023 by Burlington residents James Sparks (CEO and head brewer), Oscar Almeida (COO), and Asheen Phansey (CFO), Fable plans to transform the new taproom into an extension of its current brand, blending traditional brewing with fairytale whimsy, tabletop gaming culture, and immersive storytelling.

“Fable is essentially a place where we tell stories through beer,” Sparks told What Now Boston. “I use fairy tales and fables to create character story flights and individual beers.” One example is a Goldilocks-inspired lineup, featuring a blonde ale for Goldilocks and a trio of English bitters—Ordinary, Strong, and Extra Special—for the Baby, Mama, and Papa Bear.

The Woburn taproom will lean even deeper into that narrative world. Sparks said the goal is to create “a really magical and accepting environment,” a place where you can “create your own stories.” Guests will enter through a subtle speakeasy-style hallway that opens into the “grand hall,” envisioned as an old tavern beer hall with an enchanting, storybook feel.

Though primarily beer-focused, Fable will serve a small, tavern-style menu designed to complement its whimsical brews, including a meat-centric charcuterie board, a veggie-forward crudité, and roasted potatoes.

Community-driven events will play a major role at the taproom, with plans for Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, Magic: The Gathering tournaments, and other tabletop gaming nights and story-driven events.

The 5,500-square-foot space will accommodate approximately 150 guests and is currently undergoing landlord-side construction, after which Fable will begin its own buildout. The team is targeting a late spring to early summer 2026 opening, depending on licensing timelines.

Ultimately, Sparks hopes Fable will provide a brief respite from the pressures of everyday life. “Just imagine it being a place where you can escape the negative reality and chaotic environment we live in right now,” he explained. “And just be able to really go into a different world for a little while and take a break.”
