A new restaurant is planning its debut on the North Shore.

According to Boston Restaurant Talk, Bernadette is coming to 65 Washington St in downtown Salem, with husband-and-wife duo Aaron and Shanna Chambers at the helm.

Chef Aaron, who has trained under renowned French chefs such as Daniel Boulud and Raymond Blanc, will shape the culinary vision at the new eatery.

As stated on its website, Bernadette will offer a French-inspired, farm-to-table menu that embodies the “charm and sophistication of a classic Parisian bistro.” Diners can expect a selection of sustainable dishes crafted using “hyper-local ingredients and seasonal flavors.”

Every detail at Bernadette is thoughtfully curated to tell a story. The restaurant’s interior evokes the intimacy of a cozy dinner party, harmoniously blending “bold femininity and quiet luxury.” Natural oak woods, plush velvet seating, and handcrafted brass lighting create an ambiance that feels both elegant and approachable.

Bernadette will be the second culinary venture for the Chambers. A few years ago, they launched Settler, a charming Mediterranean-inspired restaurant also located in downtown Salem.

The Bernadette team is currently hiring for front-of-house positions, and the eatery is expected to open by the end of November 2024. For the latest updates, follow Bernadette on Facebook and Instagram.
