The fast casual restaurant chain is all set to take over the Boston food scene. Owned by Shaquille O’ Neal, the former NBA star, Big Chicken will open its first ever franchise in the city.

Franchise co-owners Paul Bains and Ryan Corcoran have signed a franchise agreement to bring Big Chicken into six locations across the Greater Boston area. A full time engineer, Bains aims to continue leading the success of Big Chicken into the Boston market.

“We’re thrilled to share that we’re bringing BIG flavour, BIG food, and BIG fun to Greater Boston,” said Bains to Franchise.com.

While the locations are yet to be decided, Big Chicken currently has open outposts in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, Houston, Arizona, and Ohio.

CEO Josh Halpern said he is looking forward to the expansion of Big Chicken in the Boston market and has always been fond of Bain and Corcoran’s ambition.

“Paul and Ryan are an ambitious duo with proven success in their respective fields of expertise and we’re lucky to add them to our team of incredible franchisees and look forward to supporting them as we build Big Chicken’s presence in Boston. Let’s GROW!” said Halpern in a statement.
