A new Chinese restaurant is on its way to Brookline.

Big Fun Clay Pot is preparing to move into the former site of Baby Cafe at 1006 Beacon St, reports Boston Restaurant Talk.

YongHao Wu, who owns the eatery alongside several partners, told What Now Boston the team is aiming to open within the next few weeks, sometime in September 2025.

The upcoming menu will mirror the group’s Big Fun Cafe in Quincy, where claypot rice takes center stage. A popular dish in southern China, the crispy rice casserole dish is layered with meats, vegetables, and other toppings and cooked until the savory juices seep into the grains below.

Wu said that Brookline guests can expect some favorites from Big Fun Cafe—such as Spare Ribs with Black Bean Claypot Rice, Beef Congee, Shrimp Steamed Rice Rolls, and Fish Dumpling Soup—plus a few fresh surprises.

The new restaurant is expected to seat 50 guests and operate seven days a week, according to licensing documents.
