A Westborough-based bakery is expanding with a second shop.

According to a Boston Restaurant Talk source, Black Rose European Bakery plans to open at 303 Newbury St in Boston’s Back Bay, taking over the former site of Coco Leaf.

Formerly known as Gerardo Sarli’s, the bakery was renamed in 2022 after Sarli passed it on to Long Rocheford, who had been working there for seven years. Inspired by her mother, Rose, Rocheford established Black Rose to fulfill her dream of bringing “the finest European pastries to American palates.”

At Black Rose, patrons can look forward to a range of sweet treats, including cookies, panna cotta, cheesecake, creme brulee, mousse cups, fruit tarts, eclairs, brownies, and more.

If all goes according to plan, the new bakery should open sometime this summer.
