A popular local pizzeria is officially expanding to Natick Center.
Hopkinton-born Blue Square Pizza is preparing to open its third location at The Block, a mixed-use project currently in development at One South Main Street. Once it debuts this spring, the pizza joint will join a growing lineup of previously announced eateries, including Nhậu, San Sushi Bar, and Bún + Bao.
Founded in 2022 by Troy Sproul, Blue Square has quickly become a local favorite. The eatery earned national recognition in 2023, taking home Pizza Today’s Startup Pizzeria of the Year and Top Use of Technology awards. The brand was also ranked No. 51 on Pizza Marketplace’s Top 100 Movers and Shakers list before opening its Northborough location in July 2025, later climbing to No. 40 in 2025.
Blue Square is best known for its four distinct styles of pies: Detroit-style, characterized by a light, airy interior and caramelized edges; thin grandma-style squares; Chicago-style pies with ultra-crisp, cracker-thin crusts cut party-style; and the classic New York-style with a thin and foldable crust.
Sproul told What Now Boston that the Natick location will serve the brand’s “core menu of artisan pizzas, executed with the same standards and attention to detail that define Blue Square Pizza, in a format optimized for convenience and efficiency.”
Spanning 877 square feet, the new pizzeria is designed primarily for off-premise service, prioritizing fast delivery and a seamless pickup experience without sacrificing quality. The location will mirror the refreshed design introduced in Northborough, with equipment upgrades aimed at increasing throughput and maintaining 15-20 minute pickup times during peak hours.
The team hopes to welcome Natick guests in April 2026. “Blue Square Pizza is officially expanding to The Block in Natick Center, and we’re thrilled to be joining such a dynamic and evolving destination,” said Sproul. “This location represents a thoughtful next step for our brand as we continue to grow with a focus on operational excellence and consistency.”
