Last month, Stone Hearth Pizza announced it would soon be closing its flagship Belmont location after 20 years in business.
“Though this chapter is closing, we hope the spirit of Stone Hearth Pizza will live on in the memories we’ve shared together,” the team wrote in an Instagram update. “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our journey.”
However, a new tenant is already lined up for the 57 Leonard St space. According to The Belmont Voice, Andover-based Brooksy’s Brick Oven & Bar is opening up a second spot in Stone Hearth’s place this fall.
The eatery is known for its crispy, wood-fired pies, ranging from classics like the margherita and pepperoni to more inventive options such as the Korean BBQ and white truffle mushroom. The menu also includes snacks, salads, pastas, and indulgent desserts like the s’mores pizza: a gooey skillet cookie topped with dark chocolate chunks and vanilla ice cream.
“The great thing about pizza is that it’s for everyone,” owner Brooks Rice told The Voice. “Everyone has their own likes or dislikes. It’s communal, too. You can feed your family, go on a date, or just have it for yourself.”
The Belmont Center pizzeria will be open for both lunch and dinner, featuring dine-in, take-out, and delivery service.
Stone Hearth Pizza built a stellar reputation with its use of local, organic ingredients, offering gluten-free and build-your-own options. At its peak, the restaurant operated several locations across Eastern Massachusetts. Be sure to stop by before it closes on June 30 for one last slice.
