A Kaohsiung, Taiwan-based bubble tea franchise is expanding further in the Boston area.
Gong Cha is headed to 2 Elm Square, Suite 103 in downtown Andover, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. The chain’s website confirms this news, listing the shop as “coming soon.”
Permits recently filed with the Town of Andover, along with a Massachusetts business search for S Blue LLC, reveal that local resident Patricia Sardon is behind the upcoming shop, though she did not respond to What Now Boston‘s requests for comment.
Founded in 2006, Gong Cha currently operates over 2,000 stores across 23 countries, including 25 existing Massachusetts locations. The name “Gong Cha” translates to “tribute tea for the emperor,” reflecting the company’s dedication to sourcing high-quality tea.
In addition to its extensive bubble tea selection—with toppings like tapioca pearls, coconut jelly, and pudding—the chain offers milk and fruit teas, smoothies, slushes, tea lattes, coffee, and bubble waffles.
When it debuts, Gong Cha Andover will operate daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Stay tuned for grand opening updates.
