Cha Feo, the Downtown Boston bubble tea shop that quietly shuttered last year, is planning a fresh start.
Originally located at 248 Newbury St, the Asian tea and dessert café is relocating to 130 Tremont St, just across from Boston Commons, according to a recent licensing board hearing notice. Situated in a first-floor 1,200-square-foot space, the new café will seat up to 16 guests.
The menu at Cha Feo blends classic and creative café offerings, from coffee, milk, and fresh fruit teas to boba and “cheezo” teas—a cold drink topped with a frothy, sweet-and-savory cheese foam.
The café also serves sweet treats like egg puff waffles, éclairs, and tanghulu (a traditional Chinese fruit snack coated in a hardened sugar syrup and served on skewers).
Owner Linxun Lian briefly confirmed the relocation with What Now Boston and shared that he’s hoping to host a grand reopening by the end of July 2025.
