After nearly two years of anticipation, a new eatery is set to grace East Cambridge.

Chef Matthew Bullock of popular pop-up Southern Pines Diner Car recently took to Instagram to unveil plans for his latest venture. “I can’t believe I’m saying this… but I may have just found a new home for Southern Pines in East Cambridge,” he shared. “It’s exactly what we need to grow and continue celebrating Southern food-ways and culture here in Boston…”

Bullock told What Now Boston that Southern Pines Supper Club will be an enhanced version of his current Diner Car concept. Guests can look forward to a diverse selection of sandwiches, including the Country Hamwich, Argentina Steak Sandwich, and Deviled Crabwich—each infused with a Lowcountry twist. Additionally, Bullock plans to introduce more salads and “Country Bowls,” a unique bowl concept where sandwich fillings can be savored atop rice or grits.

To make this vision a reality, Bullock has launched a fundraising campaign via NuMarket. With only five days left in the campaign, the funds raised will support more pop-ups, Supper Club events, and an expanded menu featuring local, sustainable ingredients. As a token of appreciation, contributors will receive 120% back in credits redeemable at Southern Pines Diner Car, any pop-ups, and the upcoming Southern Pines Supper Club brick-and-mortar.

The exact location and opening date have yet to be disclosed, so be sure to follow the eatery on Instagram for updates.
