Local restaurateur and chef Sarah Hutson Wade is pursuing approval to open a new restaurant, as indicated by a licensing board hearing page on the city’s website. The proposed establishment, tentatively named SJ’s, is set to grace 745 Atlantic Ave near South Station in Downtown Boston, adding to Wade’s trio of nearby eateries: Stillwater, Sloane’s, and Mac Bar.

While details on the cuisine of the upcoming restaurant are still under wraps, diners can anticipate a menu reflecting Chef Wade’s innovative approach to comfort food. Expect dishes reminiscent of the indulgent sandwiches, creamy mac and cheese, comforting entrees, and ‘kick-ass cocktails’ that have become staples at her other establishments.

The “cozy downtown restaurant” will feature a spacious ground floor housing diverse dining areas, a bar, a kitchen, and restrooms at the rear. Additionally, there’s a seasonal outdoor patio with seating for 24, operating until 10:00 p.m. from April to October.

Keep an eye out for further updates, as more information should emerge following the meeting next week. In the meantime, stay in the loop by following the restaurant’s Instagram and Facebook pages. With a slogan boasting, “Good food done well,” patrons can anticipate an exceptional dining experience at SJ’s.
