Chilacates Mexican restaurant recently applied for a Common Victualler License with the Cambridge License Commission to open a new location in Cambridge’s Central Square, in the building formerly home to Mainely Burgers.

Chilacates strives to bring the Boston metro the most authentic Mexican street food experience, enlisting the freshest and most local natural ingredients for all of its specialties. The eatery’s mission is simple: “We just want you to be happy!” states its website. Existing locations can be found in Chestnut Hill, Mission Hill, South End, and Roslindale.

Customers can expect authentic birria tacos, burritos, guacamole, and taco salads as part of the menu at the new location.

Chilacates had previously announced a different Cambridge opening and this recently filed application confirms that a second spot is definitely on its way. Street food lovers rejoice!
