Brookline‘s dining scene is about to get an upgrade.

Capricho Colombian Steakhouse is taking over the former site of French restaurant La Voile at 1627 Beacon Street in Washington Square, according to a food establishment application recently filed with the town.

Owner-manager Vanessa Ynes Dorta Lopez promises a “fine dining” experience infused with Colombian flavors and occasional live music, reports Brookline News, while the restaurant’s Instagram bio teases “Exquisite Wood-Grilled Prime Cuts Colombian Flavors with an elegante twist.”

Once it debuts, Capricho will occupy 3,576 square feet with seating for 121 guests. Hours are planned for Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to midnight, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Lopez told What Now Boston that she’s waiting to secure the liquor license from the state but hopes to open in the coming weeks. She plans to share additional details about the concept and menu this weekend, so check back for updates.

Known for its classic French cuisine, La Voile closed at the end of its 10-year lease in April 2025. The restaurant continues to operate for catering and at its second location at the Newbury Guest House, according to the eatery’s website.
