A popular cereal bar in Brighton’s Oak Square is rebranding.

The Boston Licensing Board has approved the transformation of Day & Night Cereal Bar at 6 Tremont St into Sweet & Comfy, according to a report from Universal Hub.

Owner Louis Elveus—who launched the cereal bar last summer—announced the transition on social media two weeks ago: “Thanks for a dope 2024,” he said. “See you in 2025 with new changes & updates!”

In an email exchange with What Now Boston, Elveus attributed his decision to a difference in long-term values with Day & Night, a franchise operating a few U.S. locations.

However, Elveus said that patrons expect a similar ambiance at Sweet & Comfy. “Given that we created the shop’s feel and aesthetic from scratch when we built it as D&N, there will be some similarities in experience,” he noted. “Sweet & Comfy’s concept will continue to be rooted in nostalgia.”

Guests can look forward to updated versions of their favorite cereal shakes, bowls, and ice cream, along with new additions such as coffee and dessert sandwiches.

While there’s no set opening date yet, Elveus hopes to launch Sweet & Comfy in February 2025.
